Dave and I have not been to Southern California together since our trip there in 2008 and the kids have not gone back with Dave nor I since they moved to St. Louis. Though this was a sad reason to go back, a funeral, we still felt we needed to celebrate GG's life of 92 years and have some fun! We arrived at LAX on Saturday morning, got a rental and headed straight to Huntington Beach to hang out, have lunch with my long time friend of 18 years Laura and her husband Jeff, hang at the beach, go to Balboa Island and shop around etc. We had a great day Saturday and ended the day at a great Mexican Restaurant with all the family in Pasadena, CA.

Sunday was the viewing at a funeral home for GG. We had a nice breakfast, shopped around Pasadena and headed back to the hotel for swimming and Super Bowl Party in the lobby at the Westin in Pasadena.

Monday was the funeral service. Miles did a special reading of an email he sent Pop and Gran after GG's death and had the entire room to tears. He did a great job. The service was beautiful.

After the funeral we headed to a reception in the courtyard of the Westin in Pasedena at California Pizza Kitchen. We had a nice time talking and listening to stories of GG, Dave growing up with his sisters and cousins etc.
