2nd game of the season... Another Victory...

Miles was the hero last night!

Entering the last inning of the game, the Wolves of Tualatin thought they had a one run lead.  The Wolves gave up a run in the top half of the inning, and as they prepared to bat they realized the scoring error, only to find that they were now one run behind.  Miles was due to bat third in the inning.  Before hitting Miles came out to the standing room only crowd, and said, “Dad we need 1 run to tie the game.”  One of the parents, cut him off and said, “Miles, you need to get on base and WIN the game!”  The visiting team brought in their closer Jonny Papelbon Jr.   And with three blazing fastballs, he struck out the first batter.  Fortunately, the second batter, shaking in his cleats, watched as Papelbon walked him.   As Miles walked to the plate a dark cloud covered the sun and a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky!  Papelbon wildly threw a pitch past the catcher, and our baserunner got to third base.  Miles stood in the box with 1 out, a man on third, in the last inning, down by one run.  Miles worked the count to 3 and 2, then delivered a clutch base hit over the shortstops head to tie the game.  Then on the very first pitch, Miles stole second.  Miles then took a Jackie Robinsonish lead off second and he stole third, and when the catcher threw the ball back to Papelbon, Papelbon dropped the ball.  Miles jetted home!!!  Lightning struck and thunder crashed, and  Miles slid around the catchers tag to win the game as the rain began to pour down on Ibach Field!

To say that he had a hard time containing his emotion would be an understatement.  After winning the game for the mighty Wolves, Miles said, “Yo Adrian, I did it!”
